Note
I try to collect all my notes in Evernote, which I use as my primary means of storage. For simplicity’s sake, I’ve hyperlinked each book to my notes kept in Evernote. That means (1) I don’t have to maintain two copies of the same note, and (2) I’ll be much better about sharing and updating my notes here.
That said, I am so behind in linking them all, so if you want me to share notes on a book, either recommend I read it or tell me to hurry up and post my notes!
This page is split into two sections
- Curated reading lists—These are work-in-progress lists of books by theme
- Book notes in alphabetical order—Exactly as it sounds. Click the title to expand the notes.
Two notes on how I’ve taken notes:
- I split up my notetaking with the following colors:
- Black—Paraphrased text
- Blue—My own thoughts
- Green—Direct quotes from the book, so I don’t have to put quotation marks around things, especially embedded quotes or conversations
- I’m much more thorough with physical books, and my audiobooks are on 2X speed and usually while I’m driving. Quality suffers. I’ll note when I listened to an audiobook.
